Woodlake Park has a very experienced Head Golf Professional Gavin Evans

In 1999 at the young age of 17 Gavin turned professional and looked up to his senior professionals who were there to guide him to become very successful as a playing professional on the circuit where he achieved 4 course records!!

After years of gaining experience playing on the circuit as well as custom fitting and providing coaching in Cardiff, Gavin was approached by his home club Pontnewydd Golf club in 2006 where he became the head professional. From this point, not only did Gavin start up his own business through the club Pro Shop and coaching, he took on the role as a children’s sports performance and development coach in golf in several schools including disability centres covering Torfaen and Monmouthshire and working alongside Sport Development Wales.

After 6 years, in 2012 Gavin wanted to focus on building and developing his golf business and was fortunate to relocate at Woodlake Park Golf Club. He has since thrived as the Head Golf Professional and has built an amazing relationship with the members and non-members who visit the golf club frequently from nearby and further a field.

Over the years at Woodlake Park, Gavin has always worked towards his dream of owning his own Golf Performance Studio and the during summer of 2020 these dreams came true – ProGEE Golf Performance Studio opened its doors!

As a type 1 diabetic, Gavin has never let his illness get in the way of his dreams and loves to be able to help others achieve theirs and become better golfers whilst most importantly enjoying the game!

Gavin is able to offer many services to members and non-members of Woodlake Park Golf Club. These include:

• On the course coaching
• Studio based coaching using the Foresight GC2 Simulator
• Gapping sessions
• Club fittings to individual needs
• Club repairs & Regripping
• Loft and Lie of clubs
• The sale of all golfing equipment and attire
