COVID-19 – Woodlake Park Return to Golf Instructions for Members
The following requirements must always be adhered to. We have a collective responsibility to ensure the health and safety of not only yourself, but that of your fellow members and employees of Woodlake Park.
Members are encouraged to bring their own hand sanitizers to frequently cleanse hands, particularly if in contact with common touched items such as, but not limited to door handles.
Tee Bookings
For the time being tee times shall be booked over the phone by calling Gavin in the Pro Shop on 01291 673933. Tee times will currently be booked at 8-minute intervals. As per the current exercise guidelines in Wales exercise must be done alone or with other members of your household. Therefore, it will be a 1 ball and maximum of 2 balls if all from the same household.
Note: It is Woodlake Park’s intention to move to 3 balls when Government guidelines allows this, obviously observing social distancing.
Arrival
Members shall refrain from arriving more than 45 minutes prior to their allotted tee time. If a member arrives before this then they shall remain in their vehicle. This is to minimize the amount of people in the carpark, making social distancing easier to achieve.
Shoes shall be changed in the carpark. Access to the clubhouse and changing rooms will be restricted. The toilets will remain accessible; however, members are urged to use common sense in limiting the number of members in there.
The Pro Shop has be closed at this time, but report to Reception on arrival.
The trolley shed will be restricted to 1 person at a time.
Preparing to Play Golf
Members must always observe social distancing (2m) when waiting to play. The practice area will be closed.
Max 2 players on practice putting green, maintaining social distancing.
Playing Golf
Bunkers will be in play; however, rakes will be removed. Players can smooth the sand with their foot, and then place the ball on a preferred lie within the bunker.
Ball cleaning stations will be out of service.
The flagstick must not be removed or touched. A foam collar around the flag stick will prevent the ball from falling to the bottom. The ball is ‘holed’ when it strikes this insert.
A new temporary rule will be in place for lost balls. To prevent players having to go back to the position of their last shot, and people having to gather,
- if you believe the ball could be lost the player shall play a “provisional” ball and the usual shot penalty.
- a ball can be dropped from where you believe it was lost; this will result in a 2- shot penalty
Players are also encouraged to only touch their own ball and tee. No club sharing is permitted.
Finishing the Round
The shoe cleaning station will be out of service. Players shall change their shoes in the carpark. Washing their hands can either be done in the toilets or using a hand sanitizer.
Players are asked to leave promptly after their round finishes to prevent the buildup of people in the carpark.
As previously mentioned, the trolley shed is limited to 1 person. Please be patient, and if queuing please ensure that social distancing measures are observed.
It is incumbent on all members to adhere to the above requirements. Members are also encouraged to police the measures. We are in this together. If we mess this up it will impact us all.
